Insulation and the base layer of the floor arrived today - so today may officially be the start of the build! No more 'prep' days!
Before I go on with the days events, I must note that selling a house and building out a van do not go well together - every time someone wants to see the house I have to not just clean up but also pack up all the 'van; stuff, not to mention where do I hid the pile of boxes that keep piling up? Oh, first world problems....
Well anyways today was interrupted by a midday house viewing so I did not get started on the van till late. It did however give me time to go out and buy some flooring. I ended up getting laminate flooring, water resistant, and a 'textured; dark brown. It should be a good color to hide all the nasty wet things that a will end up on the floor.
Me shopping at the floor store:

Flooring in the van!

if only it was installed - notice everything else in the van - easy place to hide things from potential home buyers!
Today mostly consisted of cutting out the plywood subloor to fit the van. I used the foam insulation as a template but cut it in horizontal instead of vertical so the seams of the two do not line up (they are both 4x8 and iit was tempting to just do a direct template match but then the seems would have lined up) not sure if that will make a difference. It did mean I had to make a few minor adjustments to get to fit properly.
transferring the foam out line to the plywood subfloor

After that I started to cut out the Minicell foam to fill in the space between the ribs of the van floor but it got dark - so more to do tomorrow.!
Plan for tomorrow is to:
- finish cutting out Minicell foam
- install subloor: Minicell, XPS foam. and plywood
- install floor
- if time allows start Thinsulate inulation on sides and ceiling
