Eva skiing into Elizabeth Parker Hut

Winter has come, gone and come again.... Thankfully we managed to get a couple of nice ski trips crammed into the start of the year. In the meantime Brian continues to take pictures of the stars and Eva gets to enjoy a much needed sabbatical.

Skiing into Lodges and Huts

A) Eva's Birthday - Emerald Lake Lodge

For Eva's birthday we spent a few days up at Emerald Lake Lodge. situated in Yoho national park on, you guessed it, Emerald Lake.

It being winter Eva dresses appropriately for a day of skiing!

At the same time smiles for the camera

Properly dressed Eva makes some tracks

and enjoys the views

Meanwhile Brian is back at the lodge eating dessert

while also dressing like a Canadian

Good thing as it was snowy and perhaps cold....

Eva scans the lake for the elusive Snow Leopard

and sees a Bluejay

Not satisfied Eva continues her search

While Brian enjoys some wintery views

but lets get real - we are here to ski!

Brian trys to maintain the pace

While Eva hardly breaks a sweat

All in all happy skiers!

B) Brian's birthday - Elizabeth Parker Hut

For Brian's Bday we headed for a night up at Elizabeth Parker Hut located near the shores overly popular Lake O'Hara - to get to the hut in the winter one needs to ski in....

Brian prepares for the adventuire ahead

Eva is all smiles at the trailhead

and off she goes

as usual along comes Brian

skiing....

skiing some more....

Cann't be that much further!?

there it is!

Eva arrives at the Hut

The hut(s)

Brian enjoys some much deserved charcuterie

With only 2 other parties we almost had the hut to ourselves

the next day Eva checks out a frozen Lake O'Hara

and skis off into the hills

Brian skis out of the hills - ticking off another successful expedition but still no sighting of the elusive snow leopard

After a such a sucessful expedition Eva get some much needed rest

While Brian eats dessert

Good thing as we are not done skiing - a few more days spent around Lake Louise

Enjoying some groomed and freshly track set trails

its a winter wonderland!

a little closer to Banff

Eva is all smiles

C) who needs a birthday - Snowy Lake Lodge

Maybe its T's or maybe its G's bday doesn't really matter as somewhere its somebodies birthday - so off we go for a night at Snowy Lake Lodge.

Brian packed and ready for another expedition

Its out here somewhere

Here we are

Eva checks the map

The snow Leopard is out there somewhere

Pretty views as usual

Is that a Snow Leopard?

Wanting nothing to do with Snow Leopards Brian heads a that-a-way

With the excitement of the snow leopard expeditions coming to an end it's time to head back to the lodge or is it hut or perhaps a cabin?

and head on down the mountain

One last pose for the camera

All in all Brian enjoys a much deserved sandwich

Et Cetera....

what do these intrepid adventurers do when they're not on the hunt for the elusive snow leopard?

Film festival festiviling

Family time timing

Cookie eating

Tree peeping

Windy ridge hiking

Leaf picking

more skiing!?

Bibimbap eating

Being frosty

The elusive Snow Leopard!
