Lots and lots of cussing...

Today I was hoping to have ceiling and lights installed - I'm getting there but not there.

Proof I have some of the ceiling and lights installed.

Crappy electrical connectors and thin tongue and groove boards were my main down fall today. Did I mention cussing? Where is that swear jar at? I'm heading to the bar! Oh wait, damn it Covid!

Anyways started the day bright and early applying a second coat of polyurethane to the planks... on second thought maybe it would have been easier to join the planks before staining and finishing... or maybe it was just they are so thin and aren't meant for a one man job. Whatever the reason I sure struggled getting the tongue into the groove today.

Prepping boards for 2nd coat of poly - a little sanding first thing in morning

Poly applied - goes on white, dries transparent - satin finish they say

Installing boards

Wires!

Cutting out holes for lights

Holes!

Light goes in hole!

Wiring light through hole

Day ended late, ie dark, with back 1/2 of van finished - no picture as I just said it was dark!

Tomorrow finish front 1/2 of van and start thinking about trim - the ceiling will need trim. On another note - I wasn't happy with how the windows turned out, so today I purchased a full size sliding door window and will move the current window in the sliding door to the 'kitchen' and the 'kitchen' window to the back bunk. I think that will help open up the space a little and be little safer as the sliding door window I'll be putting in is fixed so thieves can't pry it open and open the door! Hopefully get that done early next week but weather forecast is pretty iffy with a tropical storm Beta brewing in the gulf! Thats right Beta! Already flipped through an alphabets worth of storms this year!

What kind of wacky forecast is that!?
