Since my last post the days have passed, routines have come and gone but one thing is curtain - snow. Its almost May long weekend and as I stare out the window snow flakes mix with rain showers and I think to myself, summer must just be around the corner. It was here - showed itself for a few days in March, a week or two in April and so far a good chunck of May but just as you get ready to put the warm clothes away - snow.
That said we have been keeping our selves busy - the usual days out skiing. a trip to Kimberely, BC, Brian continues to take his photography courses, Eva goes to Germany, while Brian rides his bikes and together they manage to get out and climb - least not forget the Northern Lights!

Skiing
As as has become the norm for winter XC skiing both on groomed trails and in the backcountry takes up a good deal of our free time - here Eva admires the view high up in Ribbon Creek.

A backcountry jaunt up to Chester Lake with Will and Trish in fresh snow....

Eva happy to be out in the wilds of Alberta

At the lake and skinning up!

On a clear day supposedly the view is spectacular - on this day we settle for Eva's bright smile

Perhaps there is something interesting to see behind these rocks!?

All the while Brian isn't convinced and sits this one out...

Next we are off to Healy Pass on a sunny spring like day in February
Will races up

Brian emerges from behind the trees - is that a rainbow?!

There goes Eva

Almost there

Eva stops to admire the view

At the pass we take a much needed rest

but not for too long - off they go!

Next stop a few days in Kimberley!
But first we must stop to rest our weary bones in the Radium hotsprings!

And then a quick ski on a lake!

Before hitting the trails of Kimberley

Eva all smiles

Brian takes in view

While Eva poses for the camera

As winter progressed we managed to ski some more

Winter
Winter entered the yearly slowly but still managed to turn around and bring some snow

ftosty tree

An even more frosty tree

Giving the rabbit with white fur a place to hide

Spring
Come March it looked like Spring was on the horizon, giving us a change to go winter(?) camping - Eva packed and ready to go!

I think the best site to camp is over there?

Best hurry as the sun is about to set! or rather someone got a little over 'creative' with photo editing - I should hashtag this nofilter for all the haters out there!

Ok, back to reality, site found = time to make a fire!

Enjoying said fire

Next day we take in the view before heading home

As the weather cleared we managed to get a few days out climbing. Approach under a water fall?! Squint you might see Eva!

Tobias goes up

Tobias goes down

Eva looks on

As Spring rolls on Eva plans bigger adventures for the summer

Bakes a cake

or two

while the sky decides to put on a colossal display of color
And thats the way it is Febraury-May Calgary Alberta - B/E/T/G
